Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position.

To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector.

Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement.

Creditable specialized experience includes: Serving as the primary expert budget facilitator, ensuring that budget execution aligns with the requirements of the organization or functional area.

Analyzing financial data from proprietary and budgetary accounts to ensure the organization meets internal management requirements and external mandatory or legislative standards.

Identifying system issues, process, cross-process, and other operational deficiencies and reports them to the site Finance Business Process Analyst.

Serving as the primary Business Analyst, receiving, validating, and accepting funding documents, and creating and maintaining the associated reimbursable internal orders.

Analyzing, consolidating, and communicating financial performance results and providing financial and business performance recommendations to management.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

  • As a Business Analyst, you will be responsible for the following duties:
  • Overseeing budget execution, allocation, and revenue processing to support strategic and business plan objectives.
  • Providing guidance on the financial implications of program proposals.
  • Analyzing financial data from proprietary and budgetary accounts to ensure their organization meets internal management requirements and external legislative or mandatory reporting standards.
  • Identifying system issues, process, cross-process, and other operational deficiencies and reporting them to the site Finance Business Process Analyst.
  • Receiving and processing inbound reimbursable funding documents, processing the corresponding billing, and maintaining the associated reimbursable internal orders.
  • Facilitating order-to-cash business cycle design to ensure full alignment with DLA’s evolving strategic direction and transformation initiatives.
  • Performing ad-hoc data analysis and delivering insights that are clear, relevant, and valuable to customers.
