This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Patrick B. Harris Psychiatric Hospital, 130 SC-252, Anderson, SC 29621.
As the Building/Grounds Specialist II, working under
limited supervision, you will perform a variety of tasks to achieve a neat, orderly and sanitary environment in a designated area of Harris Psychiatric Hospital, according to regulatory standards.Responsibilities for the Building/Grounds Specialist II:- Provide floor cleaning and maintenance services, including mopping, sweeping, and vacuuming.
- Clean and sanitize bathroom facilities, including fixtures, floors and walls. Replenish supply of paper products and soap for all bathrooms.
- Clean patient rooms and living areas, including care of beds, furniture and upholstery.
- Empty trash cans in patient units, office areas and common areas. Clean trash cans both inside and out. Transport trash to waste compactor according to established procedures.
- Clean windows and glass doors. Spot clean window treatments as needed.
- Move office furniture and patient furniture when necessary for cleaning tasks and setup and takedown for events.
- Identify maintenance needs and report them to immediate supervisor.
Requirements
- Experience in custodial, housekeeping or pest control work that is directly related to the area of employment.
Additional Requirements- The ability to bend, stoop, push, pull, lift heavy objects up to fifty (50) pounds and have manual dexterity.
Qualifications
- Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
