GS-12: To be eligible at the GS-12 level, you must meet the following conditions, as defined below: Specialized Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level.
Specialized experience is defined as experience developing, implementing and/or maintaining a comprehensive financial management system; providing financial and managerial data to control budget execution in achieving short and long-range management plans; advising management team on recommendations and/or alternative approaches to improve program plans, budget proposals, costs of operations and program accomplishments; reviewing and analyzing past obligations, determining reasonable fund levels and evaluating validity of request; and providing a wide variety of budget reporting, including monthly financial and quarterly reports.
Major Duties:
If selected for this position, you will receive formal and/or on-the-job training, as needed.
Duties include: Planning, implementing and administrating the full spectrum of budget and financial management activities for the district, including Program Administration, Management Advisory Services, and Internal Controls and Audits.
Developing and maintaining a comprehensive financial management program that involves both short and long-range programmatic plans and the annual budget as a key segment of those plans.
Advising on programmatic effectiveness relative to planned financial objectives. Providing technical guidance, advice, and assistance to the Administrative Officer and U.S.
Attorney in the identification of future resource requirements, and in the planning and development of future budget requirements. Managing the certification of obligations for the district.
Ensuring all financial records, i.e., obligations, expenditures, delivery status and available balances, are accurate and supported with proper fund control documentation.
Overseeing the processing of travel authorizations and travel vouchers/claims. Reviews invoices for proper payment eligibility and issues payments within proper timeframes.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
