This job involves managing and overseeing budgets for the U.S. Marshals Service, including creating spending plans, tracking finances, and advising leaders on how to use funds wisely.

This position is located in the Human Resources Division-Arlington, VA. The selectee of this position serves as a Budget Analyst.
You will be responsible for advising and consulting with appropriate budget formulation, budget execution, and management team leaders, division managers, and key program managers.
GS-13 TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible.
One year at the GS-12 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 grade level.
(Must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted).
You may qualify at the GS-0560-13 level, if you fulfill one of the following qualifications: 1).
Formulating, coordinating, and monitoring the budget and spending plans of an organizations' financial program; 2). Evaluating organizational operations to perform cost benefit analysis; 3).
Conducting reviews of an organizations programs to identify ways to improve business practices, re-engineer activities, and reduce costs; and 4).

As a Budget Analyst at the GS-0560- 13 level, some of your typical work assignments may include: -Coordinates and monitors the annual budget with USMS headquarters.
-Apprises senior management of the division's financial condition and advises leadership of any recommended measures necessary to ensure proper funds management.
-Develops narrative and statistical justification for requested funds. -Provides advice and recommendations on all aspects of the assigned budget area to division management officials and managers.
