Full Job Description

The Mackinac Bridge on a sunny day with blue skies and trees in the forefront with the MDOT logo and the MDOT webpage address.

THIS IS A SEASONAL POSITION. THE APPOINTMENT WILL TYPICALLY START IN MAY AND END IN OCTOBER EACH YEAR.

POSITION WILL WORK INTERMITTENT HOURS UP TO FULL-TIME HOURS DURING THE SEASONAL ASSIGNMENT DEPENDING ON THE NEEDS OF THE EMPLOYER.

Multiple vacancies may be filled utilizing this posting.

Greet customers, collect tolls, check truck permits to ensure compliance with bridge rules and regulations, assist in taking surveys. Help law enforcement agencies in locating sought vehicles, deliver emergency messages to traveling public and monitor security cameras. This position requires possession of a valid driver's license to perform escorts over the bridge.

The "Salary" listed above is a range that reflects the minimum rate at the entry (6) level through the maximum rate at the experienced (E7) level. Based on education and experience, candidates will be reviewed to determine what level they are qualified for.

One year of experience equivalent to a Bridge Services Representative 6.

Qualifications

Bridge Services Representative E7

Completion of at least 8 semester hours (12 term) college credits in accounting, business, finance, mathematics, public administration, or statistics may be substituted for one year of experience as a Bridge Services Representative.

OR

Two years of experience in a customer service position with primary focus on processing financial transactions
