Base salary range: $74,441 - $96,770
Typical requirements: 1 year specialized experience at GS-11. Advanced degree + significant experience.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).

To qualify for the position, you must meet the following requirements: Applicants must have experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to independently perform the duties typically required of a Bindery Machine Operator Supervisor.
These duties require skill in Lead and coordinate binding production activities such as assisting in resolving routine production issues.
Coordinate work assignments, production flow, and daily priorities to support meeting production schedules and established deadlines.
Provide instruction, guidance, and on-the-job training to lower-level operators assigned to monitor machine and workstation operations during major production runs.
Promote and support safety by conducting regular safety contacts with employees, modeling safe work practices, and reinforcing established safety processes.
Assist in developing, documents, and applying operating procedures and process controls to ensure work is performed in accordance with established standards.
In addition to the requirements above, GPO employees competing under merit promotion procedures must meet all of the following criteria in accordance with Federal Merit Promotion Plan, GPO Instruction 615.2C (Appendix B): 1.
Have completed a formal, recognized apprenticeship or GPO journeyperson training program, or possess substantially equivalent practical experience in the trade of the vacancy; AND 2.
Have at least 1 year of journeyperson experience subsequent to completion of the above apprenticeship or training; AND 3.
Have served a minimum of 1 year in Career or Career-Conditional appointment in the GPO. 4. Have served at least 1 year in an administrative or supervisory capacity.
OR 1) Have obtained a Baccalaureate Degree or three years of responsible experience in the printing industry equivalent, at a minimum, to the GPO journeyperson level, 2) Have two years of experience in the printing industry of a scope and quality sufficient to carry out the duties of the position - one year of which was at or comparable to the PG-12 level, AND 3) Have served a minimum of one year in a career or career-conditional appointment in GPO.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement to be considered.
