Full Job Description

The current vacancies are in the Social Services department. The eligibility list created by these vacancies may be used to hire other vacancies in the department or County.


To participate in and supervise activities related to resident treatment in a residential treatment facility for developmentally disabled persons; to provide services based on behavior modification principles and techniques; and to perform related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  1. Train and direct facility staff in methods for observing and recording of residents' behavior, the application of appropriate behavior influences, and related activities.
  2. Participate as a team lead in establishing behavioral and developmental goals for residents, including participating and assisting in house meetings.
  3. Assist team members in designing a program based on principles of behavior modification for each resident. 
  4. Observe and record residents' behavior in accordance with behavior analysis techniques; measure progress towards behavioral goals through established procedures.
  5. Establish effective interpersonal relationships with residents to assist them in achieving behavioral goals.
  6. Explain to parents, case managers, and interdisciplinary team members, the details of program activities to include rationale, procedures and results.
  7. Assist and instruct residents in self-help, leisure, recreation, and functional skills.
  8. Complete quarterly and annual reports, person-centered plans, and assessments on skills, abilities, and needed supports.
  9. Drive company vehicles as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8,9.

Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Special Education or a closely related field.


Experience: One year of experience working with individuals that have developmental disabilities.


Substitution: Equivalent combination of education and related experience.


Certification/Licensure: Must have and maintain a valid, unrestricted driver’s license.


Additional Information

The examination process will consist of the following section with each section weighted as indicated:

  • Training and Experience Rating = 100%

The examination for Behavioral Analyst will consist of a training and experience rating, comprised of the questions in the attached supplemental questionnaire.

Not all applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will pass the training and experience rating.

The rating on this supplemental questionnaire will depend on your answers to the questions – do not mark “see resume” or “see work history” as a response.

Please answer all your questions clearly and completely. Failure to respond could affect your score and final rank on this examination.


Eligible List: The names of all applicants who have submitted a completed application and passed the examination/screening process shall be placed on the eligible list for an employment opportunity as a Job title.

This list will be certified to the appointing authority which may use this list to conduct interviews to fill a vacancy.

Applicants will remain on the list for 60 days or until hired, whichever occurs first. A notice will be sent to applicants at the time the eligible list is posted.


Veteran's Preference: This is a classified position requiring an open, competitive selection process. Veteran's Preference points will be applied after a candidate passes the examination process.

Applicants who are eligible for veteran's preference should update their veteran's DD214, and other supporting documents, and submit them as an attachment at the time of application.
