The Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks is accepting applications for Beach and Parks Assistant Managers for the Summer Seasonal Employment at the Miami Beach and Rocky Point Beach locations.
Schedule: 40 hours per week - Summer Season (Memorial Day to Labor Day)Definition of Responsibility
Assist with the operation and supervision of an assigned beach, park, or other facilities.

Under direct supervision, will assist with the operation and supervision of the Miami Beach and Rocky Point Beach facilities.
Examples of Essential Duties
Assist in supervising, scheduling, and training seasonal staff.
Assist in maintaining the inventory of supplies and equipment necessary.
In the absence of the Manager, exercise and perform all managerial duties.
Monitor cashiers and verify daily transactions, reports, and deposits.
Make bank deposits.
Provide customer service and address concerns.
Supervise rentals of watersports equipment.
Supervise and lead programs.
Safeguard swimmers and non-swimmers using beach and park facilities.
Enforce swimming and facility rules and regulations to the public.
Keep facilities clean and free from hazards.
Alert patrons to changing weather and water conditions.
Perform routine tasks as assigned. (Such as cleaning bathrooms, removing trash from barrels, cleaning grills and grounds, and minor maintenance.)
Lead programs for the public and various groups.
Must be at least 18 years of age by May 1, 2026.
Must be able to work weekends and holidays throughout the summer and have days off on weekdays.
Must have reliable transportation.
Facilities are not located on public transportation lines.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check, physical, and drug test.
Licenses and Certificates:
Current Lifeguard, First Aid/CPR/AED by May 1, 2026
Current Waterfront Skills Certifications required by May 1, 2026
Current Lifeguard Certification completed through a private vendor before the start of the season will be eligible for reimbursement
If not Waterfront Skills certified, must be able to attend training arranged by Baltimore County at the start of the season
Preferred Experience:
Two (2) years of lifeguarding experience is preferred
Prior experience in customer service is preferred
Applicants having the ability to work the entire season, from Memorial Day to Labor Day, will be considered first
Seasonal Non-Merit positions are not classified within the Baltimore County Government Classification and Compensation Plan.
Seasonal positions are not included in the Employees' Benefits Plan.
Current Lifeguard Certification completed through a private vendor before the start of the season will be eligible for reimbursement.
