Summary

This job is for a bartender at a resort in the Bavarian Alps that serves U.S.

military members and their families, where you'll mix and serve drinks, handle sales and inventory, and keep the bar clean and safe.

GOVERNMENT POSITIONS MUST INCLUDE PAY PLAN, SERIES, GRADE, TO AND FROM DATES, AND GOVERNMENT AGENCY/DEPARTMENT.

Must include at least one year of experience performing duties at a level which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform successfully in the position.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Applicant must have one year of post-high school experience in the hospitality industry or one year of post-high school education.

Must meet state/local age requirements for the serving of alcoholic at the time of appointment Be able to lift and carry weights up to 40 pounds.

Possess math skills necessary to calculate patron bills and take inventory. Skill in mixing and serving alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages. Ability to monitor and direct the work of other bar staff.

All Qualified applicants will be rated against the highly qualifying criteria by a rating panel for evaluation of the quality and extent of your total accomplishments, experience and education.

Those applicants determined to be highly qualified will be referred to the hiring official for consideration. The highly qualified candidates may undergo an interview and reference checks.

All answers to the Highly Qualifying Criteria must be demonstrated in your resume to get credit. Major Duties:

DESCRIPTION OF MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: MAJOR DUTIES Operates a small full-service bar, mixing and serving the full range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

Records sales, makes change or prepares charge slips in accordance with operating procedures. Stocks bar. Keeps bar, utensils, equipment and work area clean and sanitary.

Keeps records of quantities of beverages dispensed and submits requirement for re-stocking to supervisor. Receives and checks quantity and description of stock.

Uses tact and courtesy to deny further sales to persons whose conduct has become unruly or who appear to be intoxicated. Skills and Knowledge: Skill in mixing drinks.

Applies simple arithmetic in calculating bills and making change. Ability to recognize intoxicated and unruly patrons and take necessary remedial action.

Skill in recognizing impending shortages of inventory. Responsibility: Work is performed without close supervision. Responsible for overall operation of the bar. Accountable for receipts and inventory.

Physical Effort: Regularly lifts and carries items weighing up to 20 pounds. Occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds. Stands for prolonged periods.

Working Conditions: Work is primarily indoors. Exposed to cuts and bruises.
