Job Description

Summary

This job is for a bartender at a military recreation facility on Fort Drum, where you'll mix and serve drinks, handle customer payments, keep the bar clean and stocked, and ensure a safe environment by managing intoxicated patrons.

It's ideal for someone with hands-on bartending experience who is reliable, physically fit, and good at dealing with people in a busy setting.

Full Job Description

This position is located at the Peak but may fill other vacancies in the Business Recreation Division.

This position is for Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) at Fort Drum, New York.

FMWR includes Child and Youth Services, Business Recreation, and Support Services, which enable Soldier readiness, support the resilience and well-being of Soldiers and Families.

Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will NOT be paid. Resumes must be two pages (or less).

A qualified candidate must possess all of the following: Ability to: mix drinks using alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, AND perform simple arithmetic to calculate bills and make change, AND recognize and handle intoxicated patrons, AND recognize shortages of supplies and replace them as necessary, AND monitor and direct the work of other bar staff, AND meet state/local age requirements (18 years old) for the serving of alcoholic beverages by the start of employment, which is estimated to be 1/29/2026, AND physical ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds.

  • Expertly mixes and serves a complete range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages while managing all financial transactions, including recording sales and handling cash or charge payments.
  • Maintains bar inventory by tracking beverage usage, submitting re-stocking requests, and verifying the quantity and description of all incoming supplies.
  • Ensures the bar, utensils, equipment, and entire work area are kept in a clean, sanitary, and orderly condition at all times.
  • Uses tact and professional judgment to deny service to individuals who appear intoxicated or become unruly, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for all guests.
