This job is for a bartender at a Navy facility in Illinois, where you'll mix and serve drinks, handle food orders, manage payments, and ensure patrons follow rules like checking IDs and refusing service to intoxicated people.

This position is located in Pier 525, within Commander, Mid-Atlantic Region, Fleet and Family Readiness Program NAVSTA Great Lakes Epicenter in Great Lakes, IL.
The purpose of this position is to provide beverage service in a dining room, bar/lounge facility.

A minimum of Bartender or Waitress practical experience preferred. Must be dependable, courteous and friendly and be able to effectively and harmoniously work with Mess Management and patrons.
High School graduate with previous experience in customer and/or public relations work. Major Duties:
45% Prepares a limited variety of alcoholic drinks by selecting proper premix and garnish where a working knowledge of the carious mixed drinks is required.
Serves patrons directly or delivers to waiter. Receives payment, operates cash register, and makes and returns change to patrons or waiter.
Works from recipes and is held strictly responsible for pre-measuring drinks to meet retail accountability requirements.
Takes food orders and sends them to kitchen for preparation, serves food at the counter. Serves spirits, beer, wine coolers, candy and other sundry items at the counter.
25% Incumbents in these positions are assigned, where the duty manager requires, which includes one of the service bars or the checking/identification and stamping prior to entering during operation period, for the purpose of patron entrance and exit surveillance in addition roving the club to the checking of identification cards and assure proper stamping of patrons.
He/she has the right to refuse admission to anyone already intoxicated. Incumbents observe departing patron a ride home, call a cab or insure patron's friends will take patron home.
10% Assures that all activities are operating as scheduled and according to policies and procedures prescribed by the Club Manager or Assistant Manager.
Explains and enforces Club policies, procedures and regulations; attempts to resolve problems or refers to designated authority.
May refuse entrance or service to unauthorized individuals and must use tact and courtesy when refusing entrance or service. 10% Incumbents must be able to set up both bars for operation.
Must know sanitation procedures. Maintains work area net and clean. Washes and sanitizes equipment, glassware and utensils. Makes out mess requisitions for stocking of items needed during shift.
Prepares Daily Activity Report for cash receipt documentation at end of shift.
5% Incumbents may direct patrons to food and beverage service areas and furnish information regarding the location of cashier's cage, manager's office, advisory office and restroom facilities.
Incumbents provide information regarding the location of other facilities, such as the service station, Consolidated Package Store, barber shops, dining halls, concession activities and all other MWR facilities.
5% Incumbents shall maintain assigned entrances, exits and all public area in a clean and orderly manner.
Must ensure the closing of the mess to include checking door locks, inspecting the premises for fire hazards; and turning off lights and other electrical equipment.
