Summary

This job is for a bartender at a bar and grill on a U.S. Air Force base in Germany, where you'll mix and serve drinks to customers, handle payments, and keep the bar clean and stocked.

It's a hands-on role in a casual setting on a military installation, ideal for someone with bar experience who enjoys interacting with people and can handle moderate physical work. U.S.

citizens or eligible NATO country residents living in Germany would be a good fit, especially those with prior serving or customer service backgrounds.

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at Heroes Bar and Grill in Ramstein Air Base, Germany, and is ineligible for Logistical Support.

The purpose of this position is to mix and serve pre-mixed alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages from a limited-service bar.

Requires frequent light to moderate lifting and carrying of objects weighing 5 to 15 pounds, pushing and pulling objects weighing 10 to 20 pounds and occasionally lifting up to and over 40 pounds.

Citizens and legal U.S. residents in Germany. In accordance with the Status of Forces Agreement between Germany and the U.S., you must be a U.S. citizen or citizen of a NATO country with a U.S.

permanent resident card in order to be eligible for NAF employment.

Citizens of Germany (including dual citizenship if Germany is one of the countries) as well as "ordinarily resident" US citizens are not eligible for NAF employment per SOFA agreement.

If not already in the commuting area, must be able to verify the ability to arrive before a firm job offer can be sent.

Qualifying Experience: Must have experience mixing alcoholic beverages for retail sale, which includes knowledge of correct proportions and mixtures to use in preparing beverages.

Must be able to recognize intoxicated or unruly patrons and to resolve the problem or seek assistance if needed. Must be able to follow cash handling procedures.

Must be physically able to frequently lift objects weighing 5 to 15 pounds, pull and push objects weighing 10 to 20 pounds, and occasionally lift up to and over 40 pounds. s.

Must meet the appropriate minimum age requirement for working with and/or serving alcoholic beverages. Must be able to communicate clearly with customers and possess skill in dealing with the public.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Major Duties:

Operates limited service bars. Prepares a limited variety of alcoholic drinks by selecting proper premix and garnish. Serves beer, soda and wine. Serves patrons directly or delivers to waiter.

Receives payment, operates cash register, and makes and returns change to patrons or waiter. Sets up bar for operation and obtains cash bank. Maintains work area neat and clean.

Washes bar equipment, glassware, and utensils. Stocks service bars and assists higher-level bartender as required. May be required to prepare documentation for cash funds accountability.
