About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the Auto Hobby Shop.

This is a NAF (Non-Appropriated Fund) position assigned to the 31st Force Support Squadron at Aviano AB, Italy. Who May Apply: Open to everyone.

Applicants will be categorized by preference(s) and/or priority consideration eligibilities.

An applicant's eligibility will be determined based on eligibility claimed in the questionnaire and proof of eligibility MUST be provided with application by the closing date, 02/09/2026 The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is US Citizens or NATO country citizens with a valid US permanent resident card and Social Security Number.

In accordance with the Status of Forces agreement between Italy and the US, you must be at Aviano AB on orders and be a US citizen or citizen of a NATO country with a US permanent resident card.

Italian citizens may not apply for US NAF positions; however, may be eligible for local national positions on base. Must be able to provide documentation proving residence status overseas.

Legal US residents must possess a social security number and be citizens of a NATO country. The 31ST Force Support Squadron is not currently providing logistical support.

Applicants must provide proper documentation indicating they are already a supported member of Aviano AB.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Skill in using basic automotive tools. Skill in operating equipment common to the trade. Skill in operating a small variety of test equipment.

Knowledge of techniques for removing, replacing, cleaning and installing parts, components, and accessories. Ability to determine when parts should be cleaned and reinstalled or replaced.

Must be able to read and interpret parts manuals and manufacturers' repair manuals. Major Duties:

Provides support to the patrons of the facility in the form of instructions and technical assistance in the minor repair and maintenance of their motor vehicles that can be accomplished by cleaning, reinstalling, or replacing parts in cooling systems; braking systems; starting/charging systems; electrical systems; drive-trains; and suspension systems.

Performs appropriate trouble shooting and explains proper process for correcting problems.

Provides guidance in, and demonstrates, proper technique of locating worn, dirty, or poorly adjusted parts through visual check or use of a variety of test equipment, such as timing lights, feeler gauge, circuit testers, electronic engine analyzers, etc.

Uses a variety of basic automotive tools such as wrenches, pliers, brake tools, ignition tools, etc. Utilizes publications and other resources to assure that work conforms to specifications.

Performs limited services on patrons motor vehicles such as; tire mounting and balancing; oil changes; minor exhaust wielding; radiator/cooling system flush; and engine analysis.

Complies with HAZMAT policies and procedures. Assures that patrons observe fire, safety, and environmental regulations and policies.

Issues parts and tools and makes sure that they are accounted for, cleaned, and in good repair. Keeps work center in orderly conditions. Assigns stall and work space.

Uses cash register, collects fees and make change. Performs other duties as assigned.
