This job is for an entry-level helper role in an automotive repair shop at a U.S.
Army base in Italy, where you'll assist experienced mechanics with basic maintenance and fixes on vehicles like cars and trucks.
It involves hands-on tasks such as swapping out parts like spark plugs or belts under close supervision, while following safety rules.
It's a good fit for someone with basic mechanical know-how, a high school diploma, and at least a year of related experience who wants to build skills in a military setting.
This position is located at USAG Vicenza-MWR, Auto Skills Center - Caserma Ederle, Vicenza. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Resumes must be two pages (or less).
Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position.
A qualified candidate must possess the following: Applicant must have completed high school or the equivalent in a trade school.
Creditable job related experience may be substituted for the education requirement.
Must have 6 months of progressively general experience plus a minimum of 6 months of specialized experience in general automotive work.
In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Possess a CDL ("C" Drivers License).
A copy of your CDL must be uploaded with your application under "license." Applicant meeting the Best Qualifying Criteria/Highly Preferred will be referred to the hiring manager.
