Job Description

Summary

This job is for an automotive mechanic at Norristown State Hospital, where you'll inspect, diagnose, and repair a variety of vehicles and equipment like cars, vans, buses, and lawn mowers to keep the hospital's fleet running smoothly.

It's a full-time role with a standard daytime schedule and no remote work option.

Requirements

As an Automotive Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing skilled work to maintain and repair a fleet of cars, vans, buses, tractors, lawn mowers, equipment, and trucks.

In this role, you must exhibit considerable knowledge of tools, materials, and methods while consistently following the safety guidelines in place during the performance of any duties in the workplace.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Overtime and travel as needed.
  • FREE PARKING!

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Four years of experience in the automotive mechanic trade; or completion of an approved apprenticeship; or
  • Any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.

Special Requirement:

  • This position requires possession of a Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Class 1 Inspection Mechanic certificate.
  • This position requires possession of a current and valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
