You will be part of a dedicated team responsible for the maintenance and repair of various hand tools, as well as a fleet of construction equipment and trucks powered by both gasoline and diesel engines, including manual and automatic transmissions. Requirements
In this role, you will be tasked with performing maintenance and repair work on a variety of vehicles, equipment, and tools, primarily focusing on diesel machinery. Your responsibilities will include conducting oil changes, mechanical diagnostics, tune-ups, and tire replacements, while also addressing repairs for electrical, brake, and steering systems. You will be required to carry out state safety and emissions inspections on designated vehicles, ensuring they meet all necessary regulations and affixing the appropriate inspection stickers. For diesel equipment, your duties will involve changing oil, servicing filters, and replacing parts, as well as repairing electrical systems, cooling systems, and suspension components. Additionally, you will demonstrate repair techniques to fellow employees and assist with larger repair projects. Finally, you will keep detailed equipment records and provide emergency road service when needed.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Work hours are subject to change based on operational needs.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary:
Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $48,841 (before taxes).

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:- Four years of experience in the automotive mechanic trade; or
- Completion of an approved apprenticeship; or
- Any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.
Special Requirements:
- You must be in possession of a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.
- You must be in possession of a valid
Class 1 Inspection Mechanic certificate or equivalent that allows inspection for Class 1 vehicles.
Post-Employment Requirement:- Possession of a CFC-12 Refrigerant Recycling Certificate and a 134A Refrigerant Recycling Certificate.
- Must supply own toolbox and basic tools.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
