Key Requirements

ATS Systems Integrator

(IT System Administration-Senior Specialist)

WaTech establishes the strategic technological framework for various state domains and programs, overseeing the primary technology services throughout the state.

About the opportunity:This position is part of WaTech’s Agency Technology Services (ATS) unit and is located within the Project Delivery and Performance unit in the Strategy and Management Division.

ATS provides services to internal and external agency staff. These services are either directly delivered by ATS or coordinated via other WaTech teams or external vendors.

This position reports to the ATS Manager.

As an ATS Systems Integrator, you will create and maintain integrations to allow software systems to share data and interact together.

This includes legacy on-premises software solutions, Cloud Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions, internally developed code, data warehouses, and software systems managed by outside agencies.

Current examples include integrations around OneWA, ServiceNow, SalesForce, M365, SharePoint, UiPath, and Power BI.

Additionally, you will help support a wide range of customers completing Database Admin tasks and providing technical advice in SQL server environments.

This work will also include assisting the Enterprise Automation Service, where the majority of identified automation opportunities have involved system integrations.

Requirements

Some of what to expect with this role:

  • Research, create, test, and maintain integrations to allow software systems to share data and interact together.
  • Evaluate business processes and work closely with non-technical staff to create requirements and identify the best integration approach with awareness toward cost, performance, maintainability and security.
  • Perform integration disaster recovery planning, testing and execution.
  • Perform user-level administration of service area systems to ensure optimal system access.
  • Use knowledge of PowerShell, UiPath, Azure DevOps, GitHub Enterprise, and Power Apps to develop custom back-end integration solutions to allow for enterprise systems to communicate with each other, and to automate critical administrative functions.
  • Support technical updates and revise existing applications, programs, interfaces, servers and vendor software.
  • Research advances in technologies and new software to open additional options beyond the currently used toolset.
  • Complete database administration tasks for non-SQL databases, including Oracle, MySQL, Postgres, and any other one-off database technologies as needed.
  • Maintain database backup solutions, monitor threats and apply database management tools
  • Complete system administration work, including monitoring, patching and security access, on technologies related to Database Admin that are used by the state, including: Spotlight, VMWare, Windows Servers, and VEEAM server backup solution.
  • Provide advice and help developers troubleshoot database design and query performance.


Qualifications

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Ten years of Systems Administration experience. This experience must include:
    • Three years' experience as a system administrator of software solutions responsible for configuration, maintenance, testing and customer communication.
    • Two years of database administration experience, including designing, developing, optimizing and maintaining databases.
    • One year of experience with software administration for a Cloud SaaS solution (for example, ServiceNow or UiPath).
    • One year of experience with software automation tools (for example, Power Automate or UiPath).
    • One year of DevOps experience, to include firewall requirements planning and server issues troubleshooting.
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or related field may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to four years of the required experience.
  • The ability to take action to learn and grow.
  • The ability to take action to meet the needs of others.

Preference may be granted to applicants with the following:

  • One year of experience as a software developer. Experience writing code and understanding where application functionality should be in a multi-tiered application for best performance and maintainability.
  • One year of experience as a server administrator. Experience with Windows server, server security, server monitoring, and infrastructure.
  • Experience working with customers, gathering business requirements and translating them into technical requirements.
  • Experience working in a technical IT Help Desk or similar environment, requiring troubleshooting applications with customers.
  • Technical and non-technical writing skills.
  • Knowledge of IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
