This job involves helping people find and understand public records like property documents using computers, providing certified copies, scanning new files, and handling payments in a county clerk's office.
It's a customer-facing role where you'll assist the public, attorneys, and businesses both in person and over the phone with questions about legal records and fees.
A good fit would be someone detail-oriented with customer service experience who is comfortable with basic computer tasks and staying calm in a busy environment.
Assists and instruct customers on the use of public browse terminals, recording software applications and computerized indices.Produces and certifies copies of records upon request.Scans Plats, Condominiums and Deed Record Exhibits into recording software applications.Assists customers in person and by phone with using the County Clerk's website.Assists attorneys, title companies and the public with procedural and recording questions for data retrieval.Processes mail requests.Balances cash registers and prepares daily deposits and accounting reports for Recording Management Staff and the Accounting Manager.
Deposits are usually between $1000 and $2000.Performs all cashier duties which includes collecting fees and generating reports.Answers telephone inquiries about recorded documents, fees, policies etc.Assists public with property title questions.Explains the different types of real estate documents, terms and procedures.Maintains a general working knowledge of the agencies and departments that use the escrow system.Makes deposits for customers using Escrow Accounts.Performs all other related duties as assigned Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent.
