Applications will be accepted from: ALL PERSONS INTERESTEDDivision/ Section: HAS OPERATIONAL PLANNING AND READINESSWorkdays & Hours: Monday to Friday 8am – 5pm (subject to change)PURPOSE OF DIVISIONThe Operational Planning and Readiness team is responsible for stakeholder engagement, project coordination, and project review. It serves as the conduit between projects and the airport stakeholders. Stakeholder engagement leads to better coordination of projects with each airport’s stakeholders, improving airport efficiency and lessens or eliminates operational impacts. The Houston Airport’s Operational Planning and Readiness team exists to assure that the facilities meet the readiness standards and expectations of a 5-star airport.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITIONThe Assistant Project Manager- Operational Planning and Readiness will assist the Project Manager and support the Operational Readiness team by attending TIP, JOC, and other Infrastructure meetings with stakeholder groups to ensure smooth operation and minimal operational impacts for airport users. This position will assist in reviewing and approving all Work Activity Notifications (WAN), reviewing construction projects and designs. Provides support to the ORAT team through development of dashboards to track various activities involved in Operational readiness. “Candidates must be able to obtain all security required badge access including Custom Border Patrol access within 6 months from the hire date."
The Assistant Project Manager responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Prepares and reviews various reports and records.
- Assist with mitigation of Operational and Customer Service impacts by anticipating risks associated with proposed construction activities
- Assist the Project Manager with day-to-day coordination of operational activities in the terminals and on the roadways with all impacted airport stakeholders.
- Assist with development of project scopes and submittals of new Initiative Request forms (IRF's) and Work Orders.
- Develop and maintain an effective reporting system that includes all Operational Planning and Readiness projects.
- Participate in project meetings, working groups and workshops, contributing technical analysis and experience as it relates to Operational Planning and Readiness.
- Attend workshops, trials, simulations, familiarization, and other activities for the opening of new facilities.
- Serve as core member of onsite airport leadership (National Incident Management System) in emergency situations as defined by CFR 139.325
WORKING CONDITIONS
The position requires stooping, bending and/or lifting of items of up to 30 pounds with occasional periods of walking on rough surfaces. There are occasional discomforts from exposure to moderate heat, cold, moisture/wetness and unpleasant air conditions. The position may involve occasional exposure to soiled materials and light chemical substances such as cleaning solutions. Requires the ability to make simple gross motor responses within large tolerances.
Requirements
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTSRequires a bachelor’s degree in architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Landscape Architecture, Project Management, or a closely related field based on the responsibilities of the position.
Considerable knowledge of design or construction is required.
Directly related professional architectural, construction or landscape design experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSNo experience is required.
