Full Job Description

You will serve as a ASSISTANT PLANNER & ESTIMATOR (GENERAL) in the PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT (Code 900) of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job.

  • You will review technical work documents, manuals, procedures, drawings and instructions to accomplish outlined work.
  • You will assist with ordering of material to support equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • You will follow the progress of work and assist other planners and engineers in eliminating backlogs and ensure proper prioritization of resources.
  • You will compile detailed job plans and prepare estimates for the modification, maintenance, and repair of Shipyard facilities.
  • You will prepare orders directing release of work to shops and submit them to the Planner and Estimator for approval.
  • You will perform site inspections with cognizant shops to scope maintenance work, working conditions, restrictions and unusual requirements.
  • You will prepare written reports of inspections, including locations, nature, and extent of deficiencies.
  • You will assist with maintaining of an inventory of consumables and other materials.
