Summary

  • Bachelor's degree and three years of responsible administrative/classification/inmate records experience, including one year of supervisory experience
  • OR Associate degree and four years of responsible administrative/classification/inmate records experience, including two years of supervisory experience
  • OR High school diploma and seven years of responsible administrative/classification/inmate records experience, including three years of supervisory experience
  • Successful completion of four weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire
  • Ability to manage reception and evaluation centers, including intake processes for male and female inmates
  • Supervisory experience over staff in custody, medical, and mental health sections
  • Proficiency in ensuring accurate entry of sentencing and commitment documents

Full Job Description

  • Position serves as Assistant Division Director of Classification and Inmate Records
  • Manages the male and female reception and evaluation centers (includes Lieber and Perry intake process)
  • Oversees the intake processing areas, operations section, fingerprint, institution classification and assessment section of the R & E
  • Manages the uniform custody staff and medical and mental health sections
  • Ensures sentencing sheets and commitment documents are accurately entered for approximately 650 monthly intakes
  • Supervises the medical and mental health testing process for the Reception and Evaluation Center
  • Monitors the transfer and intake process to ensure the diagnostic process is completed within the established timeline
  • Coordinates the institutional operation section
  • Serves on various institutional and division meetings as needed

Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Requirements

South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience.

SCDC Minimum Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree and three (3) years responsible administrative/classification/inmate records experience to include one (1) year of supervisory experience.

OR

  • An associate degree and four (4) years responsible administrative/classification/inmate records experience to include two (2) years of supervisory experience.

OR

  • A high school diploma and seven (7) years responsible administrative/classification/inmate records experience to include three (3) years of supervisory experience
