Job Duties:

  • The Adult Protective Services Team Leader Supervises Adult Protective Services (APS) Case Managers in the following county or counties: Barnwell and Bamberg. Will assist with other counties with APS as needed.


Provide supervision and guidance to APS staff at the county level, with the use of APS Batch Reports and other pertinent data, by coordinating workloads and responsibilities to include critical staffing's and case reviews of assessments, plans, and tools in CAPSS while respecting self-determination of the vulnerable adult.

Ensure that staff meet APS goals while maintaining the well-being of vulnerable adults who are being served by the agency. Carry APS case load as needed.


  • Supervise staff by using monthly APS Batch Reports and other pertinent data. Ensure that staff meet APS goals while maintaining the well-being of vulnerable adults who are being served by the agency.

  • Establish and maintain effective working and harmonious relationships with individuals, families and representatives of other professional disciplines.

  • Asses the vulnerable adult's ability to secure long-term services to include but not limited to: redirecting funds, securing a guardian or conservator, filling out appropriate documents for emergency services and connecting to probate or family court. Carry APS case load as needed.

  • Coordinate and serve as the liaison with the State Office of the Adult Advocacy Division and ensure that reports and paperwork are completed within time frames established by APS policy including but not limited to Critical Incident Reports, Medicaid Reports and Emergency Funds paperwork.

  • Perform Red Cross shelter duty or other emergency shelter duty/services and other duties as directed or assigned.

Requirements

A Bachelors Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Public Administration or a related field and three (3) years experience in Human Services or Social Services Programs.

A Masters Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Public Administration or a related field and one (1) year of experience in Human Services or Social Services Programs.
