Full Job Description

Tacoma Power is looking to hire two interns, one SharePoint/Automation and one Business Operations Interns to join our Environmental Health & Safety team! These positions are open to current college students and recent graduates and offers hands-on experience. These paid internships are entry-level positions.

Tacoma Power is hiring an Intern to join Power Shared Services and support the Tacoma Power Apprenticeship and Training team. If you’re someone who loves organizing information, improving processes, and working on data analytics and visualization, this internship will be a great fit.

This is a hands-on role with real ownership.

You’ll help keep Tacoma Powers Apprenticeship and Training teams tools and workflows running smoothly, strengthen how the team visualizes data and tracks certifications, as well partner with senior analysts on workforce development projects that support all of Tacoma Power.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting data analysis & visualization, process automation, updating procedures, task delegation and project work in SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Smartsheet, and/or other software for implementation of new programs and processes.
  • Coordinate with PSS leadership, administrative staff and the Apprenticeship & Workforce Development team to assist with streamlining and documenting information for the career mapping project.
  • Helping PSS staff to ensure that all applicable process documentation is available, filed correctly, and organized for retrieval/archiving. Assist in the logistics planning for training classes, apprenticeship program trainings, and the electrical trainee program.

Requirements

Minimum Education*
High School Diploma or GED

Minimum Experience*
1 year of post-high school training

Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements
Depending on assignment, some positions may require a valid Washington State Driver's License

*Equivalency: 1 year of experience = 1 year of education
