This job involves developing and maintaining software applications that help track diseases and manage lab operations for Pennsylvania's health departments, working as part of a team to ensure systems run smoothly and follow health guidelines.
You'll provide technical support and monitor performance for critical tools used in public health surveillance.

As an Application Developer 2, you will work closely with the Applications Developer Administrator as well as a technical team of Commonwealth and contracted employees in supporting a full range of software development and technical support activities throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC).
Work involves acting proactively by constantly monitoring, evaluating, and reviewing system performance and adherence to all Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Commonwealth, and HHSDC policies, guidelines, and standards.
This is a technical position with responsibilities that require proven experience with Azure DevOps, .NET 4.6 or higher, VB.NET, C#.NET, SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology to provide application support and services for the following mission critical, Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH) applications:

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You will be required to report in-office on Thursday and Friday each week.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office at 2525 North 7th Street, Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
