Full Job Description

The Application Technician 2 position is located in the Development Services division of Metro Water Services. The primary focus is to assist customers by scheduling and dispatching their respective inspections.

Employees at Metro Water Services (MWS) work around the clock to supply, treat, manage, and protect our water resources in a sustainable manner for the benefit of all who live, work, and play in our community. Our dedicated, diverse workforce provides high-quality drinking water and the best in wastewater treatment and stormwater management. Our employees work together to service more than 210,000 water and 216,000 sewer accounts. We are looking for highly engaged individuals to join our team.

Requirements

Cross Connection
  • Process and respond to email requests.
  • Schedule backflow inspections.
  • Schedule site-visits, “go-by’s”, and follow-up inspections.
  • Process paper work from inspectors.
  • Create and dispatch work orders.
  • Open and close work orders.
  • Proficiently utilize software programs such as Enquesta, GIS, Document Manager, Hansen and Outlook.
  • Complete work orders left in open status or not completed.
  • Coordinate with leadership to ensure effectiveness of scheduling.

Inspections
  • Process and respond to email requests and phone calls.
  • Schedule meter inspections, water/sewer taps, and out of county sewer taps and inspections.
  • Work in software programs such as Enquesta, Cityworks, Inovah, Document Manager, Hansen, Granite and Outlook.
  • Schedule/Sign off Backflows.
  • Open and close work orders.
  • Create and dispatch work orders.
  • Follow up to ensure inspections were completed.
  • Communicate with customers results of inspections and sign off if applicable.
  • Research and sign off on u&o requests.
  • Prepare and assign daily work for inspections including but not limited to:
    • Meter inspections
    • Large taps
    • Small taps
    • Sewer taps

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent plus six (6) years of applications, technical and/or financial related experience.
