Job Description

Summary

This job involves maintaining and repairing UH-72A military helicopters, including inspections, part replacements, and ensuring everything meets safety standards for the Army National Guard.

Full Job Description

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT MECHANIC (UH-72A) (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D2390000 and is part of the NC ASO, National Guard (ASO-AASF 1 / Manning Doc 4621-072).

Military Grades: Enlisted (E6 and below) Minimum Requirements: Experience or training that has provided the candidate with the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts, accessories, and components, and to make adjustments and settings according to established specifications.

Must be skilled in the use of hand tools and test equipment.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 18 months experience or training installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification.

Experience coordinating the work of other mechanics, and scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum workflow. Major Duties:

  • As an AIRCRAFT MECHANIC (UH-72A), WG-8852-12, you will manage, monitor or perform overall maintenance within the CAMP and FAA framework, servicing, inspections and documentation for one or more highly technical, high performance UH-72A military aircraft; request maintenance services exceeding AASF capabilities or time constraints; maintain UH-72A aircraft under FAA and manufacturer guidelines and conduct inspections IAW Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) maintenance publications and special inspection criteria as outlines in FAA, OEM and Army maintenance and safety messages; plan, develop and conduct proficiency training during the technician work week to a multi-faceted workforce comprised of Full Time Support (FTS) and supported unit personnel; comply with safety, fire, security, environmental, and housekeeping regulations; participate in operational flights as a crewmember; perform other duties as assigned.
