Full Job Description

You will serve as a Aircraft Attendant in the Airfield Operations Division of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION, NEW RIVER.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job.

Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible.

  • You will operate airfield support vehicles on the installation and over public highways.
  • You will direct aircrafts into parking position, secure aircraft (e.g., install wheel chocks, locking devices, engine covers, and attach ground wires.
  • You will refuel aircrafts and provide limited ground service to prepare aircraft for departure.
  • You will perform continuous surveillance inspections of airfield surfaces, airfield signage and lighting, and airfield equipment.
  • You will conduct daily systems checks and preventive maintenance on airfield vehicles and equipment and on ground support equipment.
  • You will stand fire guard and visually observe the starting of aircrafts for possible fire or fuel/oil leaks.
