THIS IS AN INDIANA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION This position is part of the IN 122nd Fighter Wing, Indiana National Guard under Position Description Number D1366000.

MILITARY GRADES: E-5 thru E-6 COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS: **2A3X3** If applicant is willing to join the Indiana Air National Guard and meet the AFSC compatibility requirements, please upload your Report Individual of Personnel (RIP) to your documents on this application to determine ASVAB qualification.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training that has provided the candidate with the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts, accessories, and components, and to make adjustments and settings according to established specifications; Must be skilled in the use of hand tools and test equipment.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience or training installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification; Experience coordinating the work of other mechanics, and scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum workflow?

You must have the ability to instruct lower graded mechanics, military and other personnel in the disassembly and re-assembly of crash damaged engines, transmissions, gearboxes, hydraulic components, and fuel controls sufficient for the exhibit to be returned to its shipping container.

Must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level.

At the WG-08 level, this includes the following: Experience or training in the use of common hand tools to make mechanical repairs.

Experience removing and installing aircraft parts, components, and accessories with detailed guidance.

Experience in following detailed instructions in making routine, reoccurring repairs and modifications to aircraft parts, subassemblies, and components, e.g., such as jacking and leveling aircraft, installing, and adjusting engines, landing gear assemblies, instrument panels, and flight control systems.

If approved, the memorandum will be returned to you and then submitted with your application. Major Duties:

  • Performs inspections, functional checks, and preventive maintenance on aircraft to include periodic, phase, hourly, preflight, postflight, calendar, thru-flight, and special inspections.
  • Troubleshoots and performs unscheduled maintenance on assigned and transient aircraft, utilizing various gauges, meters, measuring devices and other related test equipment.
  • May be required to perform user and organizational level maintenance on assigned support equipment, including inspection, repair, modification, and corrosion prevention.
  • Provides data for aircraft maintenance historical records, complete maintenance data collection, man-hour accounting, and other forms as required.
  • Instructs, directs, and assigns maintenance repair tasks to drill status guard members.
  • Complies with safety, fire, security, and housekeeping regulations.
  • Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations such as MEI, ORI, IG and UE inspections, mobility and command support exercises.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
