This job involves inspecting and evaluating the electrical systems of naval aircraft to decide on repairs or overhauls, creating work plans with material and cost estimates, and ensuring all work meets technical standards.
It also includes training and guiding other workers on tasks.
A good fit would be someone with hands-on experience as an aircraft electrician who enjoys detailed technical work and leading small teams in a military maintenance setting.
You will serve as an Aircraft Examiner (Aircraft Electrician) in the MRO Production Department, and Production Lines Division of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO PROVIDE PRODUCTION SERVICES, and includes the following: 1) Examining and/or evaluating the condition of an aircraft and associated electrical components to determine overhaul requirement; 2) Analyzing aircraft logbooks, removal and replacement interval cards, records, and configuration information for the rework and/or repair of assigned aircraft; 3) Interpreting and retaining information from blueprints, specifications; and technical directives; and 4) Controlling the depth of rework set forth by applicable specifications, instructions, and manuals.
