The Department of Health, Air Quality Laboratory has ONE (1) urgent vacancy located at the Hawaii State Laboratory in Pearl City, Oahu.

Requirements

Sets up, calibrates, maintains, and repairs air quality control equipment in the laboratory and at sampling sites throughout the State; performs routine standard chemical and statistical tests to verify the accuracy of recording instruments and the findings of others; maintains quality assurance records; and performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:

Legal Authorization to Work:

The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.


General Experience: ONE (1) YEAR of technical experience in calibrating, maintaining and repairing electronic air monitoring equipment such as spectrophotometer, carbon monoxide analyzer, nitric oxide-nitrogen dioxide analyzer or electronic analysis equipment of equivalent complexity and sophistication. Such experience must also have demonstrated that the technician possess either knowledge of or the ability to operate such equipment and perform standardized corroborative statistical and/or chemical tests, procedures or formulae used in verifying the previously cited electronic air monitoring equipments accuracy.
