Requirements

As an Aging Case Aide 2, you will assist in performing personal care tasks at a senior day center.

Incumbents provide information, assistance, and benefits counseling to older adults, including Medicare/PA MEDI, PACE, LIHEAP, and Tax/Rent Rebate programs.

You will assist with application completion, referrals to community resources, and coordination with agency care management.

Occasionally, you will conduct outreach throughout Wayne County, including home visits to home bound clients.

This role coordinates senior center programs, activities, and special events; recruits and supervises volunteers; and assists with member registration and assessments.

Personal care includes supporting daily nutrition services such as meal distribution, sanitation procedures, and documentation of donations collected.

You will maintain records and perform data entry in agency and statewide databases, including PA MEDI and Information & Referral documentation.

Additionally, this position assists with newsletters, informational displays, transportation arrangements, and Medicare Part D education events.


Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Employee may have overnight travel or out of the county travel for meetings or training.
  • Employee may cover at other senior centers or satellite.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Aging Case Aide 1; or
  • Two years of public contact work, including one year in a human services program; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.


Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
