Full Job Description

This position is located in Data, Information Management, and Enterprise Governance Division. The supervisor is Leah Kube.

This position is subject to Confidential Financial Disclosure reporting requirements. This position is not subject to security ownership restriction reporting requirements.

In order to qualify for this position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is defined as: Demonstrated knowledge of 44 U.S.C., 36 CFR, NARA Bulletins, and AC Memorandums. Communicating NARA's regulations, policies, and guidance to senior management.

Writing records management policies and guidelines. Creating and revising records retention and disposition schedules.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following: Demonstrated knowledge of Federal records management, document management, and technical information management as evidenced by supervisory and management experience at a comparable level.

Demonstrated experience in developing records management policies and guidelines for records management staff and agency staff to be in compliance with National Archies and Records Administration (NARA) regulations, policies, and guidance.

Demonstrated experience in maintaining and using file plans, indexes, controlled vocabularies, taxonomies, data dictionaries, and access and security procedures.

Demonstrated experience in creating and revising records retention and disposition schedules.

Demonstrated ability to interpret and advise senior agency officials on existing, new, or potential records management statues, regulations, or other legal requirements impacting the agency.

The successful candidate will perform the full range of Agency Records Officer (ARO) duties.

Such duties include but are not limited to: Developing and implementing agency-wide policies and procedures for managing the records program governed by the Federal Records Act and related Federal statutes and regulations.

Planning, directing, and coordinating all activities necessary to develop, administer, and electronically integrate the Agency's records disposition schedules, agency record holdings, and accountability; public use, internal, and interagency reports; and related activities associated with the management of the Agency's records, from their creation to their ultimate disposition.

Planning, directing, and coordinating activities relating to the receipt, distribution, and processing of documents, as well as the development and maintenance of official recordkeeping collections in all media.

Planning and directing the agency-wide records management program, inclusive of records maintenance in any media/format, records disposition, and archival records activities.

Developing policies, standards, objectives, and procedures for NRC-wide information and records management activities.

Interpreting regulations, directives, and other authoritative documents generated within the Agency and those issued by other Federal organizations that affect or concern the entire gamut of records and information management requirements.
