This job involves leading the technical development of rotary wing aircraft projects, such as helicopters, within the U.S.
Navy's aviation engineering team, including overseeing funding, mentoring engineers, and ensuring projects meet mission goals.
A good fit would be an experienced aerospace engineer with a strong background in flight simulations and aerodynamics who enjoys guiding teams and solving complex aircraft problems.
You will serve as a AEROSPACE ENGINEER in the AIR VEHICLE ENGINEERING DEPT, AEROMECHANICS DIV of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
In addition to the Basic Requirements, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (DP-04) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Contributing to the development and coding of high fidelity simulation models for use in engineering analysis, test team support and fleet training; 2) A thorough knowledge of the theory and application of rotary wing aerodynamics; 3) Knowledge of flight dynamics, aircraft performance, software development, project management, and aircraft operations in order to effectively solve problems; 4) The ability to develop the competencies of others to perform and contribute to the organization; and 5) Communicating effectively both orally and in writing.
