Job Description

Summary

This job involves providing administrative support to the International Military Student Office at a U.S.

Army base, including managing calendars, handling correspondence, assisting with travel and personal issues, and coordinating records.

About the Position: This is a PERMANENT position with the Command Element, Office of the Chief of Staff, G3 Academics, International Military Student Office at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

Current Civilian Employees of the Organization Domestic Defense Industrial Base/Major Range and Test Facilities Base Civilian Personnel Workforce In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: preparing and editing staff level correspondence; compiling/analyzing data; maintaining administrative files; maintaining calendars and schedules; and preparing travel orders and vouchers.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

All applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade and specialized experience requirements within thirty (30) days after the closing date of the announcements. Major Duties:

  • Maintain the International Military Student Office Chief's calendar.
  • Schedule appointments based upon personal knowledge of International Military Student Office Chief's workload and availability.
  • Maintain suspense file to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Receive calls/greets general officers and/or dignitaries.
  • Assist customers in resolving problems in such personal matters as pay, travel, medical, etc.
  • Prepare staff level correspondence to include executive briefs and facts sheets.
  • Serve as Records Management Coordinator.
