Job Description

Summary

This job involves providing administrative and clerical support to departments in the U.S.

Pacific Fleet, including managing office supplies, preparing reports and correspondence, and leading other support staff.

A good fit would be someone with experience in office management who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable using computer systems to handle daily tasks efficiently.

It's an entry-level federal role in Hawaii focused on keeping operations running smoothly.

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-05) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: maintaining records, procuring supplies and equipment, and using automated systems to prepare reports and correspondence for a property management program or organization.

  • You will serve as an Office Administrator for both the Range Systems and Range Operations Departments, guiding the broad scope of administrative, clerical and secretarial support for the department.
  • You will provide leadership to other administrative support personnel within the department.
  • You will develop and implement department-wide processes and procedures.
  • You will prepare and review correspondence, and provide guidance related to correspondence to the functional areas within the department.
  • You will secure and manage office supplies, and use a variety of business software and office automated systems for effective office management.
  • You will perform routine administrative and miscellaneous clerical work associated with managing the office, and will resolve related problems based on a working knowledge of the organization and programs under the supervisor's control.
  • You will respond to routine and non-routine technical requests for information (e.g., status reports).
  • You will maintain suspense records, and ensure timely reply or action, and keep abreast of current/changing administrative practices and clerical procedures associated with managing the office
  • You will compose routine and other correspondence as outlined in regulations and procedures.
  • You will be the point-of-contact for administrative support pertaining to: 1) Files management; 2) Correspondence preparation/control; 3) Office automation systems; 4) Office supplies; 5) Assigned department vehicles; and 6) Property management.
