Full Job Description

The purpose of the position is to perform a wide variety of administrative tasks associated with maintaining and supporting the work performed within the organization.

Such work includes functions necessary for the efficient management of an office and ranges from correspondence and information control to ordering and tracking equipment, supplies, and services.

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Miscellaneous Clerk and Assistant Series 0303 In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-4) in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Performing clerical work such as preparing, receiving, reviewing and verifying documents, and maintaining office records; locating and compiling data or information from files and other data sources; preparing vouchers and other financial documents OR 4 years of education beyond the high school level.

Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level.

Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.

Major Duties:

Incumbent receives, assesses, routes or otherwise handles incoming and outgoing correspondence, reports, and other communications.

Performs office automation duties including: preparation of reports, tracking data, entering pertinent information into automated systems.

Manages appointments and meeting schedules, serves as a point of contact.

Performs a variety of administrative tasks to support work of the organization such as purchasing supplies, follow-up & tracking of expenditures and payments
