Position Overview
As a Clerk Specialist in the Building and Construction division, you will work under the supervision of the Bureau Chief at our central office near Valley Junction in Des Moines, Iowa.
You will work with our Elevator, Amusement Ride, and Boiler inspection team to develop, implement, and maintain our inspection and permitting programs.

We're looking for a motivated and organized professional who is passionate about delivering high-quality customer service. Successful candidates will possess the following skills and abilities:
Working proficiency with Microsoft Office products, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and editing software
Possesses a high level of organization skills.
Experience with developing and providing training material for staff.
Displays high standards of professional conduct.
Detail-oriented and is highly responsive to colleagues and stakeholders.
Vision to move programs and processes to a new efficient licensing platform.
Responsibilities
You will be an integral member of our team, providing administrative program assistance to the department in support of the agency’s operations by:
Provide customer assistance for permits, certifications, licensees and public.
Support the department strategic communications plan.
Communication with professional boards.
Review licensee applications and renewals.
Utilizing metrics in the preparation of strategic recommendations.
