Job Description

Summary

This job involves helping manage logistics for Navy programs, ensuring that equipment and systems get the right support like maintenance, training, and supplies from design through ongoing use.

Key Requirements

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Develop and manage the acquisition logistics and sustainment logistics functions, integrated support planning, experience with integrated logistics systems (ILS) planning and requirements, and execution of ILS Assessments (ILA).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will serve as a Assistant Program Manager-Logistics (APML) supporting the Program Executive Office for Manpower, Logistics, and Business Solutions.
  • You will serve as the acquisition, technical and managerial APML required to provide necessary ILS requirements for the design, development, integration and implementation and evolution of all assigned programs and initiatives.
  • You will perform ILS planning and ensure al required documentation, maintenance; training, supply support, and In-Service Engineering Activity (ISEA) support meet the requirements of the ILS plans.
  • You will work closely with sponsors and customers to ensure identification of all ILS requirements and implementation of logistics support plans to meet those requirements.
  • You will perform selected technical/logistics studies and trade studies to develop the most cost-effective approach for providing the required logistics support to deployed systems and equipment.
  • You will provide advice to Program Managers with an agency wide logistics perspective to support budget discussions.
