Summary

This job involves helping manage transportation and supplies for people joining the military, such as arranging vehicle pickups, maintenance, and purchases using a government credit card.

About the Position: The U.S.

Military Entrance Processing Command (USMEPCOM) is a joint Department of Defense command responsible for processing applicants into five branches of military service (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard).

The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative assistance with transportation arrangements for military enlistees.

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

GS-06 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes maintaining automated supply system for material requisitions; assist with hand receipt files of all property; AND investigates causes of inventory discrepancies.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as [insert applicable field(s) of study].

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9.

Add the two percentages.

GS-07 One year of specialized experience which includes: Utilizing an automated system to maintain data (i.e., hand receipts, supporting files, property book transactions); Following established procedures to assist in the maintenance of supplies or property; Utilizing a company credit card to obtain supplies and services; Assisting with fleet vehicle management (i.e.

coordinating vehicle pickup, maintenance, dispatch, and return).

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as business and administration services, administrative office technology, administrative technician, or office management.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18.

Add the two percentages. Major Duties:

  • Coordinate vehicle pickup, maintenance, dispatch, and turn-in operations.
  • Schedule equipment maintenance, calibration, and repairs as needed.
  • Serve as Primary Government Purchasing Card Agent for the organization.
  • Implement Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans to ensure proper handling and compliance for all hazardous materials.
  • Maintains purchase logs to document card transactions accurately.
  • Monitors agreements by evaluating performance against contract specifications to uphold organizational standards.
