Full Job Description

The Department of Labor and Industry, Bureau of Workers' Compensation (BWC) is seeking an enthusiastic professional to join the team as an Administrative Officer 1. This position plans, develops, implements, evaluates, and promotes educational programs, resources, and outreach initiatives to improve understanding of Pennsylvania’s workers’ compensation laws, regulations, and processes. Requirements

In this role, you will serve as a key liaison among employees, employers, insurance carriers, attorneys, and healthcare providers to promote compliance with workers' compensation laws and enhance stakeholder engagement.

You will be responsible for developing and delivering education and outreach programs, leading trainings and presentations, and coordinating statewide outreach initiatives with industry and community partners.

Work also involves managing all aspects of the annual workers' compensation conference, including budgeting, vendor coordination, logistics, and reporting. You will also have the opportunity to:

  • Create and maintain educational materials
  • Translate complex regulations into accessible guidance
  • Monitor trends and stakeholder concerns
  • Evaluate program effectiveness
  • Represent the agency at public events and professional forums

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You will be required to report on-site 2 days per week.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience in varied office management or staff work; and bachelor's degree; or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
