Summary

Responsibilities

  • You will process initial applications for assigned boards (via paper and online) utilizing applicable criteria, databases, and software.
  • You will review and evaluate documents and ensure all necessary requirements for licensure are completed.
  • You will assemble, prepare, and scan documents into the system and maintain the applicable database with accurate information and records.
  • You will serve as one of the primary phone receptionists and respond to customer inquiries received by telephone, fax, e-mails, and other methods (including walk-ins) providing timely and accurate responses for the application and licensing processes.
  • You will perform a variety of other administrative and technical functions such as assisting with continuing education audits, preparing correspondence and documents, updating files, and records retention.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for the related work experience.
  • MANDATORY: Must be able to successfully complete a fingerprint-based background check and be vetted by SLED Criminal Justice Information Services.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A high school diploma and three (3) years of administrative experience or experience that is directly related to the area of employment.
  • Ability to understand and follow routine and complex instructions.
  • Considerable skill in the use of office equipment, computers, and software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to effectively plan and organize work activities and prioritize task completion.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Ability to deal courteously and effectively with the public.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, policies, and organizational functions of the Boards.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in interpreting and applying policies and procedures.

Other Requirements

  • Position works in an office environment with extended periods of sitting and standing.
  • May require occasional work outside of normal office hours.
  • May be required to lift, carry, move and/or position objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Daily filing, data entry, telephone and computer use.
