About the District:
The Field Operations Bureau is primarily responsible for traffic law enforcement, collision investigation, and motorist assists on 7,056.18 centerline miles (18,642 lane miles) of state highways and interstates. The Okanogan Detachment supports troopers and supervisors serving communities throughout the region, providing essential administrative and operational support to ensure effective public safety services.

Requirements

This Administrative Assistant 2 position provides comprehensive clerical and administrative support to the Okanogan Detachment and District Headquarters. The role ensures smooth daily operations by maintaining records, processing documents, coordinating training and travel, supporting budget and procurement activities, and serving as the primary point of contact for the public. The work requires strong attention to detail, independent judgment, and the ability to interpret and apply agency procedures.

Our new teammate will be able to:
  • Prepare, type, and transcribe reports, statements, correspondence, and investigative documents.
  • Maintain electronic and physical filing systems in compliance with the State Records Retention Schedule.
  • Scan, verify, and upload case files and vehicle records.
  • Process invoices, vouchers, payments, and cost-recovery checks; ensure accounts remain current.
  • Track and update Time and Activity Reports (TARs) and maintain payroll documentation accuracy.
  • Coordinate training registrations, E-Train entries, travel arrangements, and reimbursements.
  • Order, receive, and reconcile office supplies and secure inventory items such as citations.
  • Assist with overtime scheduling and related documentation.
  • Support facility and equipment maintenance coordination.
  • Serve as the primary front-counter and phone contact for the detachment, providing information to the public regarding WSP policies, procedures, and services.
  • Accept subpoenas, maintain the subpoena calendar, and route documents appropriately.
  • Support property and evidence customer interactions and maintain lobby materials.
  • Provide backup support to other administrative staff as needed.
  • Attend meetings and prepare minutes as assigned.

Qualifications
