In this role, you will be accountable for various administrative tasks such as disseminating public notices, document processing, grant oversight, and contract management.

Requirements

As an Administrative Assistant 1, you will be responsible for attending various meetings with municipal officials and engineers to provide guidance on waterline grants, administrative processes, and cost reimbursement invoices.

You will play an active role in developing scopes of work and negotiating township or municipality (grantee) solicitor/engineering fees prior to a grant’s execution.

In addition, you will manage regional contracts and waterline grants, including the development and management of contracts such as bottled water, laboratory, property appraisal, lawn mowing, and fence repair contracts.


Your role also provides
administrative and limited technical support to the Special Projects Section relating to the Land Recycling and Environmental Remediation Standards Act (Act 2). Furthermore, you will be responsible for inputting data in a prescribed format to meet data quality standards set by DEP's guidance, training, and policy. This includes ensuring accuracy and completeness of entries, as well as using system-specific tools to minimize duplicative entries and data quality issues across all of DEP's electronic data systems.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Travel is required.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Norristown. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $45,907.00 (before taxes).

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
