Minimum one year of experience that demonstrates working knowledge of a personal computer and peripheral equipment using Microsoft software or a similar integrated software program.
Working knowledge of word processing, database, spreadsheet, and graphics utilization and implementation.
Experience in the performance of a variety of clerical duties, such as typing, filing, record keeping, etc. Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Knowledge of military lifestyle and culture. Familiar with institutions of higher education. Major Duties:
Employee will provide administrative and clerical support to the Education Center.
The employee must know how to operate a personal computer (PC) and peripheral equipment to produce a variety of civilian and military correspondence, spreadsheets, charts, reports and graphs, using a wide variety of software programs such as Microsoft Office Suite.
Other responsibilities in this position include typing complex correspondence such as statistical reports and directives from handwritten drafts or oral instructions in accordance with available guidelines and instructions by utilizing a personal computer.
Employee will be responsible for data entry, writing reports and recaps. The employee will be responsible for correct spelling, punctuation, and proofreading of typed materials.
The Administrative Assistant will also maintain an online presence on department¿s social media pages.
Additionally, employee must be comfortable interacting with customers both virtually as well as in person.
The Administrative Assistant will screen incoming telephone calls and emails, determining those, which can be answered, and those, which must be referred.
Employee will be responsible for scheduling meetings, including space, time, location, and notifies those who are to attend of the meeting¿s agenda.
This position will prepare detailed or summary reports for meetings. The Administrative Assistant will schedule appointments for Education Center counseling staff.
The Administrative Assistant will respond to all classroom and Miramar room reservation requests for Building 5305 ¿The Hub.¿ This position will establish and maintain classroom reservation files and records.
Employee will be responsible for checking in and out classrooms, to include opening and closing/securing the building and classrooms. This position requires some light housekeeping of shared spaces.
The Administrative Assistance will provide World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. This position will assist customers and communicate positively in a friendly manner.
The Administrative Assistance will take action to solve problems quickly and will alert the higher-level supervisor or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.
The employee will adhere to safety regulations and standards and promptly report any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.
The Administrative Assistant will adhere to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.
The Administrative Assistant will perform other related duties as assigned. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.
