This job is for an administrative assistant in a prison warden's office, where you'll handle daily office tasks like writing letters, preparing reports, and taking meeting notes, while also managing special projects and responding to inquiries from inmates, staff, and the public.
It involves supervising other office staff and requires completing basic training for the corrections environment.
A good fit would be someone organized and detail-oriented with experience in office support, who can stay calm under pressure and follow strict policies.
Serves as primary administrative assistant to the warden.
Prepares and types correspondences, compiles reports, takes minutes.
Plans, coordinates, and directly supervise various special projects, programs and activities as directed by the warden.
Coordinates and attends staff meetings.
Provides administrative support regarding inmates by responding to inmate complaints/concerns as needed.
Responds to inquiries from inmate relatives, co-workers, outside law enforcement, the public, etc. In accordance with SCDC policies and procedures.
Direct and supervise day-to-day activities of the warden's office.
Directly supervises administrative specialists assigned to area.
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the related work experience.
