This is position is located in Bureau of Information Technology Services, Florence County.
This is an in-office role and not a telecommute or remote position.
Are you the One? We are looking for a
Regional Field Tech who will, under the guidance and direction of the IT Field Office Support Manager, the employee acts as a tier 1 - 3
technician. In addition to working regularly with routine service tickets, the employee will assume responsibility for the difficult, and problematic trouble shooting situations, as well as the normal, and routine network administration functions. The employee will be responsible for a specific region in the state of South Carolina, and the service calls that are associated with that area, while also assisting other Field Technicians in other areas. Employee may be asked to help out on the Help Desk working tickets and answering phone calls when not busy. Counties covered by this position: Florence, Marion, Dillon, Horry, and Clarendon. Position will be based in Florence County.
Effectively build working relationships with area managers, area administrators and staff in supported areas togain accountability and reliability in communicating IT related information and assuring problems are addressed and resolved in a timely manner.
Provide tier 1 to 3 level support by to Agency equipment to ensure a proper operating environment and provide user(s) hardware and software support.
Assists IT Technician II with resolving various hardware, and software trouble shooting issues, especially when it is above the tier 1 or 2 level. Provide coverage for IT Tech II during their absence.Performs any hardware, and software upgrades to Agency equipment, and installs new, and enhanced products. Assist agency management in making short and long-term decisions regarding information technology growth, and development.Participate in meetings to effectively communicate information within all areas of IT Services. Assist Networking and Administrators in process improvement, knowledge sharing and procedure documentation.Keep records, logs and reports of site visits made, gas receipts, mileage, maintenance, etc. and submit these reports to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.Additional duties as required.

Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in information technology systems, computer science, or a related field and experience in information technology systems or a related area.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered with prior State Human Resources approval.

- Knowledge of communication, or information systems.
- Knowledge of various software, and hardware infrastructure and their uses. Knowledge of computer system analysis, design, testing, debugging and maintenance.
- Ability to analyze data and provide solutions to complex problems.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
