Job Description

Summary

1 VACANCY - KANAWHA COUNTY

This Accounting Tech 3 position in the Dept.

of Health, Central Finance Office, will be responsible for reviewing and auditing invoices to ensure proper billing, review for mathematical accuracy and confirming that all medical invoices are HIPPA compliant.

This position is responsible for processing all leases, utility and sub-recipient grant invoices.

This position will be required to enter invoices into the state's financial system (OASIS) and prepare supporting documentation to maintain an audit trail and comply with department guidelines.

Position further establishes and maintains a master vendor file to reference payment information

for planning and tracking purposes, communicates payment history with various internal and external parties; enters patient/client payment information into supplemental database to assist program staff in monitoring the authorization of services: researches and resolves outstanding issues in a timely manner and follows the policies and procedures set forth by the state and department.

Other duties as assigned based upon needs of the unit.

Qualifications

Training: Graduation from a standard four-year high school or the equivalent.

Experience: Three years of full time or equivalent part time paid bookkeeping, accounting or related experience.
Substitution: Successful completion of college-level accounting courses from an regionally accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of three semester hours equals six months experience;
OR
Successful completion of related business school or vocational training may be substituted for the experience through an established formula.
