Imagine This, from your seat as an Accounting Technician 1:
Your desk becomes the place where financial details come together. You’re the one entering transactions, reviewing and preparing deposits, and making sure the Division’s financial records stay accurate and up to date.
You work closely with the Accounting Technician 2, 3, Accountant 3 and the Systems Manager, supporting them by maintaining accounting files, reconciling accounts, processing payments, and helping ensure fiscal workflows run smoothly across the Division.

As this is an on-site position and not eligible for telework, you will be working in our headquarters office located on the 9th floor of the State Office Building in beautiful downtown Juneau.
You will enjoy a collaborative atmosphere in a fully resourced and modern office space, with splendid views of Mount Juneau and the Gastineau Channel.
The 9th floor has a fully equipped and spacious break room, that you will have full access to, as well as easy access to various restaurants and coffee shops downtown.
The General Ledger team is highly cohesive, approachable, and driven by a pride in what we accomplish daily for Alaskans. We look forward to you joining our team!Who We’re Looking For:
Foundational knowledge of accounting procedures and practices;
Experience identifying discrepancies or inaccuracies in data, and making necessary corrections;
Ability to interpret, apply, and explain laws, rules, and regulations as related to accounting;
Knowledge of loan accounting, interest calculation and amortization; and
Experience with the state accounting system IRIS, or other automated accounting systems.
Three (3) most recent evaluations, or three (3) professional reference letters.
List three (3) current professional references that have had supervisory responsibility over you along with their current phone number and email address.
