The Department of Commerce, Community and Economic Development,
The Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing is recruiting for an Accounting Technician 1 located in Juneau or Anchorage!
What you will be doing:
This position is one of the accounting team members for the Division of Corporation, Business and Professional Licensing (CBPL). To help grow Alaska’s economy, you will guide and assist professional license applicants, corporate entities, and Alaskan businesses to find forms and make payments. This position must work accurately and timely in the processing of receipts, deposits, payroll, refunds, supply requests, travel booking, and special projects as assigned.

The mission of the Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing (CBPL) is to ensure that competent, professional and regulated commercial services are available to Alaska consumers. CBPL accounting unit is a team of four, providing support to businesses, professionals and division staff.

The working conditions you can expect:
This position can work on the 9th floor of the State Office Building in downtown Juneau or on the 15th floor of the State Office Building in downtown Anchorage. Requirements

One year of clerical work experience maintaining records that included using computer systems and performing basic arithmetic calculations.

Substitutions:
Successful completion of a formal vocational education program in accounting or bookkeeping will substitute for the required experience.

Post secondary education from an accredited college will substitute for the required experience (3 semester/4 quarter hours equal one month).

  • Copy of post educational transcripts or certificates, if using education to meet some or all of the minimum qualifications.
Education
If post-secondary education is required to meet the minimum qualifications, you must fill in the Education section of the application. If you have not obtained a degree, please indicate the number of units completed. Copies of transcripts are required to verify educational credentials if used to meet the minimum qualifications for a position. Transcripts must be attached at the time the application is submitted.
