Full Job Description

Operating under general supervision at the full-performance level, this position is primarily responsible for the financial administration of assigned federal and state grants within the Division of Administrative Services.

The core focus of this role involves the monthly review, validation, and authorization of fund distributions to sub-grantees.

To ensure seamless operations, the administrator will frequently collaborate with criminal justice program specialists to proactively resolve any issues or deficiencies.

Additionally, the incumbent will serve as a backup for executing grant fund withdrawals and deposits, assist in onboarding and training new accounting staff, and perform other related duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate must possess a strong working knowledge of governmental accounting principles and related auditing standards.

Success requires exceptional organizational skills, with the proven ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively in a dynamic environment.

Building strong working relationships is essential, so the candidate must demonstrate effective communication skills when engaging with internal staff, outside agencies, and the general public.

Furthermore, because this role involves highly sensitive data, the administrator must exercise strict confidentiality regarding sub-grantee grant information and any associated personally identifiable information (PII).

Technical proficiency is a key component of the daily workflow. The candidate must be skilled in using Microsoft Office and Google applications to manage administrative tasks.

Importantly, the role requires the specific ability to confidently navigate, enter, and retrieve relevant financial data within the WV Oasis system.

Applicants must possess a valid driver's license and will be subject to a comprehensive criminal history records check.

To determine suitability for the position, an extensive inquiry into job-related information will be completed; this may include, but is not limited to, reviews of criminal records, abuse registry records, driving records, past employment history, and education and training credentials.

Failing to cooperate with this process, providing false or incomplete information, or the subsequent discovery of disqualifying information will result in the immediate denial of transfer or employment, irrespective of when that information is discovered.
